Saturn Inflatable Kayak & Boat Crossover - KaBoat

Our SATURN Kaboats 14' Saturn KaBoat (Light Red) - Side Vieware taking the nation by storm and our brand new 2017 model has even more upgrades! This patent pending combination of a dinghy and kayak has found its niche in the market and is a perfect fit for someone looking for the most adaptable and portable inflatable boat on the market. There is no greater testamant to the opportunities this 14' Saturn KaBoat provides than the dozens of videos shared by customers all around the globe.

This versatile kayak/boat crossover can be used like our SATURN inflatable kayak by rowing/paddling or can be turned into a speedboat by attaching a small gas or electric engine to the marine grade wood transom at the stern. Aluminum seats and an incredibly stable design make it a great fishing vessel. The dropstitch floor is the most rigid inflatable floor on the market and makes standing up to cast simple. The compact size makes it the perfect choice for a dinghy for a yacht or sailboat.

Upgraded 14' Saturn KaBoat has the following changes:

  • Transom has triangular splash guards to minimize back splash and protect the transom holders from heat and exposure to UV rays.
  • Plastic handles were replaced with sun resistant and durable soft handles for a longer life span.

  • The valves were moved to the inside of the tubes and under the seat to protect them from sun and the elements. Their position also makes inflation from the inside of the boat easier when on the water.

  • New models have different bench attachments to make them shorter and lighter. They were also moved slightly lower for easier rowing.

  • Grommet PVC splash guards with safety grab lines run all along the KaBoat's tubes from the front to the rear. Having grommets on PVC lines allows the attachment of additional accessories, kayak seats and custom made frames and arches for fishing rod holders, night lights, etc.

The SATURN KaBoat is capable of transporting heavier cargo and offers a more stable design than that of a traditional kayak. The narrow profile allows for much less drag and allows it to outperform most traditional dinghy’s with similar engine sizes.

The 14' Saturn Kaboat can take up to a 10 HP gas outboard engine if you really want to fly (over 20 mph with 2 people) and if you're looking for maximum portability just purchase an electric motor! If the battery loses charge or the gas is low, you can use the rowing oars to paddle to your destination. A small outboard works great and you don't need anything larger than a 6 HP. With a 5 HP engine, this boat will fly at up to 15-20 mph with 1-2 people. With an electric motor you'll be able to travel at speeds of around 5-7 mph. An electric motor at minimum speed will run for up to 6 hours.

I use my Kaboat as a tender for my 65ft sailboat and it really is an incredible inflatable. Easy for one person to launch and retrieve from the boat deck. Stability is better than expected and it rows quickly and tracks right on ...I have a 2.5 Lehr propane outboard for it and it is a great union. I will never go back to a conventional tender or dingy. Great design concept and execution. Regards.
I have a 14' kaboat and wanted to tell you how much I like it and some of the modifications I've made. It packs an unpacks very easily in the carry bag, it's a one-person operation from start to finish. While I'm putting on my dive gear, I have the boat hooked up to an electric pump and by the time I'm done dressing, I only have to top it up with the hand pump. Deflating is even faster, just open the valves and roll from the transom to the bow, it's all wrapped up in a couple minutes. I bought an old Evinrude Light Twin 4hp engine for $100, and with just me aboard it'll plane at about 15mph. With two people the performance drops to 6.5mph, but this is two big guys with wetsuits, weight belts, etc. I put the gas tank under the bow cover and run a long fuel line back. I don't often use the seats that came with the boat. The rear seat is too close to the engine and the middle seat is too far, so I just sit on the tubes. I have a 42 qt cooler I use in the middle of the boat, it's pinched gently in place by the tubes and stays in place. I use the cooler for storage and it makes a convenient middle seat for a passenger. I can move the cooler where I want to better balance the boat. One thing I've modified is to use a 2-piece marine plywood floor, I laminated the bow section so it follows the same curvature as the boat. The floor is very solid under foot, distributes the load better along the full length of the boat, makes the boat more stable, and improves handling. Thanks for a great product!
I bought this boat from Saturn a few weeks back - It arrived last night and I've already since had it in the water!!! Fishing this morning was a breeze. Easy enough to carry/wheel along on my own so I was able to enjoy some pre-breakfast casts.

All in all. Great value. Oars could have been a little nicer, but hey thats why motors exist right?! :D
We have had our 14' Kaboat for 3 seasons and have used in on lakes, rivers and in the ocean off San Diego on calm days. We power it with a 3 1/2 horsepower Merc and with one 200 pound person it planes nice at about 10 MPH. With two of us and our labrador retriever it will plane but just barely. If I was doing it over I would get the 5 HP. The boat is very stable and we have had no quality issues.
This is a well made, versatile boat -- motor, row, paddle or even sail. The sail kit is available from SailboatsToGo, which is a different company. You can find them on the web easily. The boat is very heavy duty and well made.
Hi, our boat just arrived, and it’s the best inflatable think I ever seen. Thank you so much. We will highly recommend it to our friends.
Thanks, Anna

Purchased the 15' version after much research--excellent quality for $$. Very easy to set up and take down, even with just the hand pump. Weighs a hefty 80+ lbs in storage bag. We use it with a 30 lb. thrust trolling motor (and deep cycle marine battery under rear seat). It's great for quietly cruising around lakes to camp & fish. Because the boat is so narrow (like canoe or kayak), the oars + oarlocks are virtually useless--I constantly bang my knees with oar handles. I'll use a kayak paddle instead. We don't use the middle seat, but put my long legs, fishing gear, etc. between us (when my wife sits up front). Sitting on the floor, with a flotation cushion as a backrest against aluminum seat, is VERY comfortable. Haven't had it out in a stiff wind, and don't intend to...
We received our boat last week and were able to test drive it over the weekend and we were totally impressed. The delivery was prompt, the product was excellent... even the bag is big enough so that everything fits in it when it's folded up. We bought it specifically to go camping with since we pull a small camping trailer we needed something portable to go in our van. We found that it fit very well on top of our mini-van when it was blown up so once we get to our camping spot we can go to various lakes in the area and not have to deflate and inflate every time. This is the 3rd raft that I've owned... the first two had the wooden floors - a Sevylor and a Sea Eagle and the air floor is much easier to deal with and pack and it's quite solid... we did buy some outdoor carpeting to put over it (we have a dog). Thanks for putting out such a great product at a reasonable price.
